- Departure from hotel in Querétaro City to the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve, Querétaro.
- Outdoor event on the grounds. “Carbon sequestration program payment event for beneficiaries of Sello Querétaro and World Land Trust” expected +50 local landholders. SEDESU, GESG and participating companies present the payments symbolically.
- Brunch at Centro Tierra.
- Transfer to a practical field exersice site. (Rancho Suelo Vivo)
- Forest restoration site visit – Guided walk into the mountain cloud forest with a naturalist and founding member of the Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda.
- Lunch.
- Transfer to Jalpan de Serra.
- Settle in to the hotel “Sierra Gorda Cabins”.
- First working session: Biodiveristy Carbon and the Carbon Ecosystem.
- Visit the historic center of Jalpan de Serra. On the main plaza: the UNESCO 18th century Mission, the first of 5 Franciscan missions founded by Fray Junipero Serra and unusual indigenous-baroque facade. Visit shops around the plaza.
- Dinner in “Centro Tierra”.
August 12
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Transfer to the Valle Verde area.
- This green valley is at the heart of the Biodiversity Corridor where the majority of the ejidos and private landholders participate in the Biodiversity Carbon program managed by Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda IAP.
- Hike into one of the private wildlife reserves with the forestry team.
- Lunch with one of the forest firefighting brigades.
- Transfer to Jalpan de Serra.
- Arrival in Jalpan.
- Second working session and next steps.
- Gather in the Sierra Gorda Museum across the street from the Mission: tasting of local delights.
- Dinner in town with options, overnight stay in Sierra Gorda cabins.
August 13
- Departure from the Sierra Gorda Cabins with luggage.
- Breakfast.
- Transfer to the city of León Gto.
- Approximate arrival in León.

- Presentations and activities mentioned in the itinerary.
