Harvesting of Natural Resources
The controlled harvest of wild products including pine nuts and aromatic herbs in the semidesert, such as, wild damiana and oregano provides essential work for communities. We work with ejidos (communal land tenures) to build processes for sustainable harvesting. GESG has been for years, heavily involved in all components of the process to ensure success.
We also advise on potential legal logging projects in the Reserve. We build bridges to improve local skill sets, technical know-how and sustainable management criteria. We provide continuous monitoring of the forestry management program in La Barranca, in the county of Pinal de Amoles.
